Riley Roo

Riley doesn't have the same care and attention that Kaylee does for Saylor. But in the right moment, Riley will hold and love and sing to Saylor in the sweetest way.

She literally said, "Who is going to pick me up in this bag? " and I think she is showing me a fruit snack that dropped on the ground and wanted me to do something about it.

I don't know how Jake thinks of these crazy things, but Riley is always up to go along with him

Riley gets on these little projects and works so intently. I think she really enjoys her independence sometimes.

Totally stoked about the blueberry pancakes we made with the clueberries we picked. She makes this face a lot.

I am in love with her curls. I think I try to downplay how much I like them because I am afriad one day they will fall out and her hair will be straight. Her hair is such a good description of her personality though, free and crazy and lovely and sweet all at once.

These are two of Riley's obsessions right now- beading and wearing pants under her dresses!

She is brave and fearless and loves adventure

I just love her sweet little face in this picture

Spotlight on Kaylee

Kaylee took our move to Mississippi by storm. She started in soccer right after we got there and she loved it. She was the only white girl on the feild and one of the most inexperienced, but she did great. We can't wait to play again.

I wasn't sure how Kaylee would be when Saylor was born. I could not be more grateful. She loves her to peices. She is careful and mindful of her, she is helpful and understanding of the fact that she is a newborn and needs me. Somehow they have a sweet little connection and it makes me smile everyday.

Kaylee turned 5 on May 9th. She had a gold themed party with a treasure hunt and gold bracelets. But most importantly she shared it with all her friends out here and loved every second of it.

A typical pout when Kaylee gets ticked...

Genuine laughter... nothing better

Always looking over her baby sister

Kaylee knows how to smile for the camera....

but loves making silly faces, too

Wearing their "Saylor" dresses on the Fourth of July

And now she is swimming without floaties! I think she is liking growing up a lot more than me!

For the sake of starting somewhere...

Saylor Dahl was born on April 5th, 2011 in Jackson, MS. She was 7 pounds even and to be honest, I don't remeber who long she was. Average length, I'm sure.

It was kind of fun having my baby in Jackson. We were there for about a month and a half before she was born so I had time to get to know the area, have a few Dr.'s appointments.

I was going to write a funny thing about Saylor maybe not liking being born in Jackson cause she looks kinda ticked in this picture. But the reality is, she is an angel baby. She is happy, pleasant, easy. She's actually yawning in this picture- not even crying!

She looks so much like Riley.
As usually we had a hard time deciding on her name. I was stuck on the name Amy for most of the pregnancy. She was not an Amy. Jake wanted Scout. Thankfully she wasn't that either.

The second day I was in the hospital I got a call from a girl who worked with the birth certificates at the hospital. She said she couldn't leave until she got the names of all the babies born the day before. I was the last perrson she needed a name from and I could tell she was itching to leave. Jake was gone when she called the second time so when he got back I told him we had to decide now. Somehow we ended up deciding between Jessie and Saylor. I don't even remember considering either of those until that day. I wrote each of them like 50 times on a piece of paper and decided that Saylor was prettier.

Thank you Instagram for helping me pick out and class up some of my favorite pics of my favorite little girl.

Kaylee is a huge help. She absolutely loves Saylor. She loves to carry her and hold her and kiss her. She helps me watch over her and I couldn't be happier.

Riley likes Saylor too, but she is a little more playful. She thought it would be pretty awesome to put Riley under this fort they built.

Love this girl. Hopefully more to come soon!

is anyone there?

I got out of the habit of blogging... way out. Out to the point it got too overwhelming to add any updates. Plus the past year has been super busy. In 2010 we moved to Seattle, then to Baton Rouge, then to Salt Lake. I got pregnant, miscarried and then got pregnant again. Jake changed employers. The girls are great, but keep me on my toes.
So I uploaded all my pics from 2010. If anyone still reads this blogs, or even can cause I made it private and I don't know who I invited... here is a little sample of our year. Better late than never?

We are moving back to Baton Rouge in about 2 weeks. I do have more pictures and more things to post, but let's be honest- it might take me another year to post.
